🀝Onboarding

How to bring on new participants

hAppenings.community has a large AirTable database of Projects, Organizations/Groups and knows many individuals in the Holochain Ecosystem who could participate.

All will be invited through channels such as:

  • "What's hAppening?" newsletter on Substack

  • hAppenings.community Discord Server

  • Holochain Advocates Community Circle on Hylo.com

  • Dev.hc Discord Server

  • Discord Servers of the Project Groups

  • Direct contact through Discord and Email.

  • and more

Here is the process to onboard:

  • Potential participants will be given a URL to join

  • Any Project, Organization, or Individual that wants to participate will first read the Vision/Mission/Values. This short statement will be immediately visible, short. and not hidden. The intent is for folks to know the β€œcontainer/membrane” that they are joining so that all can feel safe and secure in the hApp.

  • Short Questionnaire - Each Project, Organization, or Individual fills out a short survey of questions to let us know that this is a legitimate member request (non-bot/scammer), and a little bit about them. Their email address is also requested at this time. They receive a response text acknowledging their application.

The Administrator will review the answers, and if any questions/concerns occur, can contact the person by email to get clarification. The Administrator, at this point, can accept or decline a participant from the hApp.

  • Acceptance to hApp - After acceptance, new participants will be sent a Welcome email to let them know how to independently set up their exchange preferences on the hApp. In addition, we will offer a monthly Zoom Orientation/Exchange, which allows for a fun practice exchange and time to get to know each other in the community.

  • Support - Some individuals may have challenges with signing up online, or in using the software online. Administrators will offer support to those needing help with one-on-one orientations.
